Stimulus checks for divorcees who haven’t filed 2019 yet
Terry, My ex wife (as of Dec 2019) and I (on good terms) filed joint in 2018, and have not yet filed for 2019. I made over 99,000 and she made around 40,000. Should I wait to file, and she file now? The account used for 2018 (and all previous years) is still active, though I had to pay taxes. Please advise, thanks.

Well, your filing status was determined on the last day of the year. And you were divorced then. So you have to file on your own — and because you earned so much you won’t see much, if any, of a stimulus check.
Your ex-wife should file on her own behalf, and she will get the full $1200 check.
And if you have children, she should claim them as a dependent to get the $500 check each.
She should include her own direct deposit info –and FILE NOW!
