Stock market election predictor

I’ve heard you mention that 3 months(Aug.-Oct.) before a presidential election if the stock market is up the current admin. will be, or at least has been, reelected. So what constitutes “up”, i.e., new highs?

Nope– just a close higher than at the end of July in the presidential election year. Has worked 87% of the time — for nearly 100 years. If the market closes higher in the 3 months preceding the election, the incumbent party stays in power!
