Stocks for my portfolio

By Terry Savage on December 23, 2019 | Investments

Hi,
I am 73 and have been contemplating opening a stock portfolio. I previously had a Share
Builder account and was very successful but my wife and I closed it in order to get cash to buy an apartment at Villa St. Benedict in lisle. I enjoyed playing with the market. Should I try it again? I am tempted but hesitant.
Thanks.

Please don’t “play with” the stock market! However, it can be a mind-stimulating hobby — IF you keep to the limits you have set. Sharebuilder no longer works the same way. So if you want to purchase small amounts of stock, instead go to www.Stockpile.com.
There you can purchase small dollar amounts of stock for a fee of just 99 cents. But you can’t set price limits, so this is not a chance to “trade” stocks — just a good place to buy (and sell) stock investments.
