Stocks vs Bonds
With the election of Donald Trump and the threat of tariffs is this a time when I should move my 401K investments out of stocks and into bonds? I am close to retirement and don’t want to take a huge hit.

I see you posted this question two days after the election. The stock market has given you is answer! It is very “happy” with the prospect of a Trump administration — at least right now it is happy. And it is worried about the return of inflation, as well — making bonds a bad investment.
The fact that you are close to retirement, and worried, means that you might opt for a third alternative, what I call “chicken money” — set aside in a money market account or T-bills. YOu won’t get rich there, but you won’t get poor!
