T-BILLS

By Terry Savage on August 14, 2019 | Chicken Money

I believe you have said 6 month T-Bills are paying 2%or better recently on WGN. Is that still the case and if so could you help me with the purchasing process?
I have $3,000.00 left from paying taxes and I’d like it to earn more then a savings account before it’s tax time again. Of course if you have any other ideas I’m open for suggestions. Thanx, AL

As I write this response, on August 13th, 6 month Treasury bills are yielding just under 2 percent — reflecting a general decline in interest rates.  But remember, you don’t pay state income taxes on Treasury bill interest.  Here’s a recent article I wrote explaining how easy it is to buy Treasury Bills online through TreasuryDirect.gov.
