Take spousal RRB pension as well as my own SSA benefit
I recieve my ex husbands RRB pension and would like to apply for my own SS benefit. Is there a way to do this? I will be 70 in march and have been recieving RRB pension since 2014. Thank you.

Your railroad retirement benefit is subject to an “offset” with your Social Security benefit. You don’t get both full benefits. You can read this article for details.
However, I have now seen many stories of miscalculations and clawbacks from Social Security on the basis of these “offsets.” So I’m going to suggest you get the correct answers as to how much you should receive BEFORE you contact Social Security. Go to www.MaximizeMySocialSecurity.com and they will run the program that lets you know what benefits you should be getting based on your specific situation. It costs $39 and is well worth it!
