Well, I’m not quite sure what you mean by “Social Club” — but the real question is whether you are trying to become an accredited non-profit organization, or even whether you are trying to earn money through sales of some product or service. In each of those casaes you would need a Tax ID number. But if you are just a group collecting meeting dues to pay for refreshments, then you don’t need a TAX ID — just a trusted treasurer, and someone to look over the treasurer’s accounting!
