Ask Terry Questions The purchase of I Bonds

The purchase of I Bonds

By Terry Savage on May 01, 2022 | Chicken Money

Hi I am 76 years old and have chicken money in the bank. My account thinks I should purchase I bonds for my self and my wife. I don’t have a computer just a cell phone. I am afraid to do something like this on line. Is there any other way to buy them ?Or is there some one that could guide me through the process? I respect your honesty and advice. Thank you so much!!

Terry Says

There is really no other way to buy them at this point.

Ask your accountant to help you do it. Just bring your checkbook and SS numbers to his office and he can set you up easily.
Remember, you must hold the bonds for 5 years–but you’re getting a great rate that keeps up with inflation.
And you can only buy $10,000 each.
