The third (3rd) of the Federal government Stimulus checks.
I received the first (1st) & second (2nd) of the three Federal government issued Stimulus checks. My problem is the third (3rd) most recent check. I received $400 of the maximum-allowed $1,400 . I am qualified for the full $1,400 amount. I am currently ready to file my tax year 2020 tax return ( 6-month extension due 10-15-2021). Shall i list the missing $1,000 on Line 30 of the 2020 Federal return? or, do I file it on next year’s return due on April 15, 2022?

Oops, I missed your deadline but you didn’t give me much lead time!! Since this payment was due to be made in 2021, you will claim the missing balance when you file your 2021 return next April (2022).
