Thrift Shop

By Terry Savage on April 27, 2014 | Wild Card

Hi Terry, would you happen to know as to whether the Job Centre would help finance me to open a thrift shop,I need re full money to rent the premises, although I have the stock to fill the shop. I do claim benefits at the moment.
I am 51 years of age.
Thankyou kindly.

Terry Says:   I don’t know what Job Centre you’re referring to, but each state has a small business organization that helps would-be entrepreneurs.  And if you’re in Illinois, or nearby, you might want to contact the Women’s Business Development Center at 312-853-3477.  And I’m assuming you want to open your own store.  But if you can’t get financing, you can still be an entrepreneur by collecting items and taking them to an existing re-sale shop.  You’ll get less money, but you won’t have to worry about overhead, electricity, staff, etc.
