TIPS

By Terry Savage on May 26, 2025 | Chicken Money

Terry, would you consider investing in TIPS as better than T-bills, as t-bills are short term and adds to your income? Also, TIPS in the long term when inflation could be higher, at least give you more interest? Currently, a 10 year TIPS gives you 2.125% interest. Thank you.

Terry Says

You only want to invest in TIPS inside an IRA or other retirement account. You’re taxed every year on teh “phantom” increase in value of the TIPS if you buy them in a regular investment account.
