Treasury Direct funds
I know you encourage Treasury Direct on the radio, but since my wife passed, I’ve been attempting to cash in two accounts that have matured. I’ve sent in all the required documentation and forms but get the same answer the past three months that it is being processed. My question is should it take this long to close out these accounts.

Yes, it can take several month, unless the account was in joint name, or in the name of your revocable living trust. Wait another month, and if you still don’t have the money, respond to the email you get from me saying your question has been answered. Give me your phone number, the name on the account, and other details. I’ll contact my friends at Treasury and try to get it sorted out.
