Trump account and ira

By Terry Savage on July 19, 2026 | Wild Card

Caught part of your time on WGN.
Can I transfer from my ira to a trump account for my grandkids using my required distribution?
Not sure my first post sent through.

Terry Says

If you’re 73 or older, you need to make an annual required minimum distribution from your IRA. It will be taxed as ordinary income. If you’re younger, you can still withdraw from your IRA (without penalty if you’re over age 59-1/2) and pay taxes on the withdrawal.

Then you can use the money after taxes to do anything — including giving each grandchild up[ to $5000 in a Trump Account. But are you sure you won’t be needing that moneyin your lifetime???
