Well, this is supposed to be temporary — with all missed taxes being repaid by May. But that won’t happen. And that’s the reason that very few companies are participating in the plan to stop collecting the payroll tax. The chief actuary of SS says it will wipe out the SS old age fund in two years if we stop collecting taxes permanently now.
