TSP
Ms. Savage, i retired from federal service 12/31/22. i have savings and my TSP. Your thoughts on whether to take the TSP funds out and put into an personal IRA/ROTH IRA. Thank you

That depends on your choices for investment inside the TSP. Most plans are designed to help younger workers grow their money, and thus have fewer “safe” choices for retirees.
Please read this recent column explaining how to do a rollover. YOu don’t just “take” the money!

You can probably do the investment part yourself, choosing to put some in a money market fund and some in a conservative stock fund, such as an Equity-Income fund. YOu do need some stock market exposure over the long run to offset inflation.
