TSP funds

By Terry Savage on July 27, 2022 | Wild Card & Pandemic Related

I made the mistake of using TSP money to open an annuity but canceled it as soon as I read the contract. The company made send the money first so they had to return my money. Instead of rolling the money back into my TSP, they sent the check to me. The problem is, TSP changed their computers in June and have been having trouble. I completed the requirements online three times, uploading the documents to their site, but the money has still not been returned to my TSP. The only contact is a phone number which nobody answers. I need help because it is a very LARGE amount of money. I don’t know what to do.

Terry Says

OMG. You only have 60 days to put the money back in or it becomes taxable!
What do you mean, “computer problems”? That violates Federal ERISA laws!

Contact your employer HR dept IMMEDIATELY and follow up with an email so you have a written record of your complaint!

Let me know what happens.
