UI Finding from IDES Illinois-fraud?
Received UI finding letter yesterday and debit card today. I don’t qualify. Been retired 13 years. Never worked for DMS Pharmaceutical listed as last employer.
What do I do? Know you’ve discussed this on WGN a number of times but never paid attention because I thought it didn’t apply to me!????♀️ HELP!

Yes, you are just one more victim of unemployment identity theft. Read this article and do EVERYTHING on the list!

They’re not trying to open credit cards in your name. Instead they probably already scammed unemployment direct deposits to THEIR bank account in your name! Still freeze your credit just to make sure. And watch out for a 1099 in the mail in january, demanding you pay income taxes on those unemployment benefits you never received! that’s why you need to report to police and FBI and keep track of your efforts to report fraud to them and IDES — just to cover yourself.
