Ukraine/Russian hacker attacks against Western financial institutions
What can Joe Q Citizen do to save guard financial records if Russian hackers launch an attack against US or Western financial institutions. One person I know said to download/print all financial statements so you have a record of your accounts/assets as of a certain day, and to have plenty of cash/hard currency on hand in case of interruptions to credit/debit cards. Is this something to worry about? If it’s a good idea, how much cash would you recommend having on hand? Thank you.

I don’t think this is a realistic scenario. Russia is pretty well occupied with its invasion of Ukraine. And our financial system has strong safeguards against hacking. Sure, you could have some cash at home in case of an attack on our electric grid — But in that case you’d have more to worry about — like heating/ac for your home, refrigeration, food, etc. Cash might not be the prime asset in case of that kind of attack!!
