Unemployment
Terry, im going insane. I worked on tv shows until march 14, this year. They closed our studios and have filed for unemployment. I recvd debit card but with no money. I was told to wait till may 11th. I have been so desperate i tried and mine wont go through. I hear you on wgn but when i try to call in its like calling IDES. I have tried 600 calls to IDES to figure my situation and truly so scared i dont know who to try. You truly are so helpful on radio I thought I would try this. Please tell me what is wrong with this I have 2 kids and am divorced. I know you have such a load of work but you can truly save me , thank you , how do i talk to someone at IDES im scared .

I finally spoke to the head of IDES. They are receiving half a million calls a day, with only 300 workers in call centers. EVERY one of those people is caught in the switches. I wish I could help, but they won’t give me a direct line for extreme cases like yours. Eventually may be too late, but they WILL put money on the card, and they will backdate it to your date of unemployment. But I have no idea when that will be!!
