Unemployment card missing

By Terry Savage on May 17, 2020 | Wild Card

I was approved for unemployment with IDES and my first payment was credited to a debit card that I never received. I have since changed to direct deposit and received my 2nd 2 weeks funding. How do I go about replacing the debit card assuming it was not activated and the funds used. It’s bad enough I did not receive the funding but the amount will be included in my 1099G for 2020. I have made numerous phone calls to IDES and KeyBank to no avail. They state in their greeting that if you have not received your debit card please call back and the call is disconnected. Thank you!

Typically, the cards come before the funding. Good move to change to direct deposit. All I can say at this point is that you have another year to go before filing next year’s tax return. Sometime, when things calm down, you should be able to get in touch with IDES or KeyBank to report the lost card and initial payment. At least you’re getting your subsequent benefits, which is more than I can say for thousands of others!
