Unemployment certification problem
I have been receiving unemployment benefits since being laid off at the end of September. I missed my certification window for the most recent cycle and was directed to certify that week on Thursday or Friday. I did that, the website accepted it, but I have not received benefits for that period and when I went to certify today the website said I had not certified within 28 of my claim and would need to refile my claim. I am hesitant to refile as I have a feeling that will complicate the matter even further. Please advise, thank you.

Oh, I wish I could help you! But the IDES contacts I had are all shut down. The system is impenetrable. And it’s a coin toss whether you should follow their instructions or try re-certifying on the appropriate date next week. Please write back andlet me know how this works out.
