Unemployment for seasonal employee
My daughter ( she is 21) works seasonal and goes to college off season. Her place of employment did not open to the public so she is without any income. She files for her taxes every year, She normally works April to September, can she qualify for unemployment benefits?
Terry Says
Not likely. If she is an Illinois resident she would have had to have earned at least $1600 last year–PLUS at least $440 in one quarter that was not the “top” earning quarter. And she can’t file for ‘prospective’ unemployment from a part-time job.
