Unemployment Fraud
Unemployment was filled under one of our employees, who is still an employee and says she did not file for it. Have you heard of this happening with others? What is the best way to get this cleared up? Both our employee and our HR person have been trying to call them, but haven’t been able to get anyone on the phone.

That is FRAUD — and there seems to be a lot of it going on these days. How did she know that someone claimed unemployment under her name? Did she receive a debit card purporting to be from IDES or KeyBank? If so, she is one of many people who have fallen victim –andso far IDES has not made any statements, though we have been pushing for them to make an announcement. The FBI is investigating.
