unemployment fraud — Reporting to IDES is impossible!

By Terry Savage on December 12, 2020 | Wild Card

It has been over a week since I called IDES because I received a letter saying that I filed for unemployment. I never filed. I am on a call back list and am still waiting to hear from them. Is there anything else I can do to stop the filing process before someone actually gets money based on a fraudulent claim?

Terry Says

IDES has taken down the link to report ID theft so you can ONLY call to report it. Of course you can’t get through. That is the latest insanity from IDES.
Meanwhile — do ALL of the things on this list — so next year when you get a 1099 saying you owe taxes on benefits you did not receive, at least you will have proof that you tried to report it. And be sure to read then freeze your credit report.
