I’m still waiting for my refund from last year for the tax I paid on the first $10,200 from unemployment is that normal

I checked with the IRS and here’s what they sent me:

Those are automatic adjustments.

If you filed a 2020 return and reported the unemployment benefits as fully taxable, and we processed your return on that basis, then you should receive a separate adjustment and in most cases, a refund.

Anyone can check status online through IRS.gov/Refund. That now shows refund status for tax-years 2019, 2020 and 2021.

To check any of those, you need SSN, filing status and refund claimed on the original return.
