Unemployment taxes not refunded
I filled a simple tax return online. Received my refund but never received my unemployment taxes that I paid to the State or Federal. I did receive my regular tax refunds in a short timely manner. Any idea what’s up? People I work with and sent their taxes in received theirs months ago.

That depends on the state where you live. If in Illinois, for example, they say that “most” of those refunds because of paying taxes on the first $10,200 of unemployment benefits have been sent out. Most, but not all.
And I know for sure that the IRS is still working on sending those refunds. If they have your direct deposit info, it will come faster. But if you filed on paper and did not give banking info, it could take another few months.
