HI TERRY,
MY DESEASED OLDER BROTHER JOHN, BOUGHT MY DAUGHTER JENY A US SVINGS BOND AROUND HER BIRTH IN 1981.
I LOST IT A FEW YEARS AFTER THAT WHEN WE MOVED.
I THINK IT WAS FOR $1000.00
CAN IT BE TRACED AND THEN CASHED IF FOUND?

Sorry, but no. Those were paper “bearer” bonds, and there would be no way to establish a record of ownership. If you find the paper bond, it could still be cashed in.
