US Treasury IBonds
Hi Terry,
I invested $1000 in US Treasury I Bonds. However, my checking account shows that only $980.54 was withdrawn for the I Bond. Can you explain why this happened. I tried to go on the US Treasury Direct website but it is so busy, I couldn’t log on. Thank you.

You get your interest on Treasury BILLs up front. Are you sure you purchased an I-bond and not a Treasury bill?? Try logging in late at night or in the wee hours to get in!
