WEP in Social Security

As a recently retired County and State employee, is there any word on advancement of the House and Senate Bill(s) that would strike the Windfall provision in Social Security for those of us who worked/contributed in the private sector prior or/ are/will now do so? If so, is it retroactive? Thanks!

There’s an effort in Congress to repeal or adjust the WEP — but nothing much is getting through Congress at this time!
