Wife not knowing assets after husband passes.
Heard you with Wendy Snyder today regarding someone not knowing about husbands bank accounts, investments and other assets. One source of this information may be income tax returns and supporting documents. 1099-INT, 100-DIV, 1099-R in most cases will provide financial institutions and account numbers. Brokerage statements will also provide similar information if assets are bought, sold and held by the institutions. Hope this helps.
