Ask Terry Questions Refinancing student loan

Refinancing student loan

By Terry Savage on June 18, 2016 | College Savings / Student Loans

Hi Terry, my daughter is trying to refinance her student loans from law school. She has asked two local Banks and they told her that they cannot refinance them for her because she does not own a house. I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to where she can go to get her loans financed, I think she owns about $70,000. She is also thinking about buying a condo in the next few years, I was wondering if you think that is a good idea, she is renting right now.

Thank You,

Terry Says:  She is a perfect candidate to refi her student loan at www.SoFi.com.  SoFi stands for “social finance” — and they are pioneers in refinancing student loans for people who have advanced degrees and jobs.  The have refinanced more than $10 BILLION in student loans!  Once she starts paying down her student loans as fast as she can, then she can think about a condo.
