CARE act check and child support
My husband owes back child support. He pays over $1000 a month but is $20,000 behind. We filed our taxes jointly this year. I claimed 2 minor dependents. Since we filed jointly, will they take mine and my children’s portion of the check to pay his back child support?

That’s a very good question. They haven’t set up procedures yet. But if you filed jointly, it would be only fair that they take HIS stimulus check for child support, but not yours, nor your dependents’ check. But we will have to see how the computer figures it out.
