SSI stimulus deposit/check
Information on your site indicates that recipients of SSI who are not required to file tax returns for 2018/2019 will automatically receive a stimulus payment. The AARP website says SSI recipients who are not required to file returns may have to file a return to get a stimulus payment. They are trying to lobby IRS to drop the tax filling requirement for SSI. Which is correct?
Thanks

Please read the latest stimulus update under columns. There is now tremendous pressure on Treasury (from AARP and others) to include SSI recipients in direct deposit. But it is nor announced yet. If you receive SSI you can register through the TurboTax link in the Stimulus Update article
