67 years old I was a dependent on the 2018 taxes but not 2019 will I get a stimulas check
Terry Says
I’m going to assume that in 2019 your adult child contributed to your support and declared you as a dependent on their return. QUICK — tell them to file 2019 and NOT list you as a dependent.
Once that’s done, you can register for a stimulus check — even if you are not required to file a tax return.
But the first thing the IRS will do is check your SS number against all returns and if they find you as a dependent on another return you do not get any check (nor do the people who listed you, since you are over 17!)
And if they don’t act quickly to file for 2019, the IRS will find you on their 2018 return and you won’t qualify for a check.
Here’s the link for you to register:

Just don’t register till they clear up this dependent issue!
