Stimulus check question-if you owed money on most recent tax return

By Terry Savage on May 06, 2020 | Wild Card

I filed my 2018 taxes (not 2019 yet) but I OWED money in 2018. Since I did not get a refund in 2018, there is no electronic bank information on my return. But I do qualify for a stimulus check.

Will my stimulus check be issued as a paper check to me in the mail
later in the summer? I’ve heard this will happen for everyone who owed money.

NOTE: When I log onto the IRS website, it continually says my file cannot be found. I’ve gotten this message for a month. Frustrating…….

Thanks for any information here!!

Stay away from that website. It is a mess, and will drive you crazy! Yes, if you qualify based on income you will receive the check in the mail to the address on your 2018 return. It should come in the next four weeks.
