SECURITY OF ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT SECURITY (IDES) – PANDEMIC UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE (PUA)
I was flagged in completing the PUA portal in the identity verification section. Per instructions to proceed with my application, I submitted (uploaded) my social security card, driver’s license, and marriage certificate. (I submitted my marriage certificate because my social security card reflects my maiden name, not married name). Now, I’m worried about the security of the portal. Is this what IDES is supposed to do or was I scammed? How secure is the IDES – PUA portal? Is there a potential for identity theft?

The ONLY good thing I can say about the IDES site is that it’s secure! So don’t worry about updating required information if it comes as part of your application process.
