2020 federal and Illinois tax filing
My son received his federal and Illinois tax paperwork from the accountant with the amounts to be paid to both. My son mailed the checks to both.We now received the same paperwork saying since they did not receive his Identity Theft Pin he would have to send in the paperwork. My question is will they be able to match the checks already sent with the paperwork now being sent to them? Sorry this was so long. Thank you for your help deeply appreciated.

Believe me, if he is paying IN, they will receive the checks attached to his returns! Check with your bank and you will find out the check was deposited by the IRS!
The question now is whether they will send his stimulus check to the same address on the return. You’ll have to wait a while to find out.
