Stimulus check for dependent son
Our son is 20 and submits an income tax return for his jobs. He is in school full time so we claim him on our income tax return for that. The weird thing is all his friends and parents do the same thing and the child received a stimulus check but our child didn’t. How do I find out about that? Thank you so much for everything you have done. I listen to you on WGN all the time and don’t know anyone else who has been so giving of her time.

if a child over 17 was claimed as a dependent, he or she is not entitled to a stimulus check. Period. Any checks paid out were in error if the child was listed as a dependent –and those families might get a second look from the IRS when they climb out from under this mess.
