Where can I safely obtain my credit report?
I know we can get a complimentary report annually. I am just not sure if doing it on line is safe or over the phone due to all the vital information needed to provide.

Yes, it is safe. In fact, it is basically he ONLY way to get your credit report these days. You’ll have to answer a lot of private questions that only you would know the answers too — things like previous addresses, previous auto loans, previous mortgages, etc. Go to www.AnnualCreditReport.com to be connected FREE to each of the three bureaus. Just getting one report should do it. And be sure to look for “inquiries” — especially from banks — to make sure no one has opened a new bank account or credit card in your name.
