IDES Fraud??
Terry, just received a letter from IDES informing me that I am not eligible for unemployment compensation. The problem is that I never applied for unemployment. A last employer is listed but, again, never worked or heard of the company. My concern is the possibility that someone could be using my social security number and potential ramifications. What should I do? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks Terry.
Terry Says
Yes, there is no doubt this is IDENTITY FRAUD — and that you will get a 1099 in January asking you to pay taxes on this money!
So follow these instructions carefully.

And be sure you take a screen shot when you file your report with both IDES and the FBI.
the “screen shot” is done by pushing the “prnt scrn” button on the top row of your computer.
Then send yourself an email and in the body of the email “paste” the screen shot by pushing “control V” — Keep that email in a separate file to prove you tried to report this.
And do read your credit report to see if a new bank inquired. That could be where the monney went. It’s all in the linked article.
