Unemployment Benefits strangely reduced

By Terry Savage on November 28, 2020 | Wild Card

Hello. I was furloughed from my company April 1,2020. Went back to work for the same company August 17, 2020. Received a 3% increase upon return. Furloughed again 11/20/2020. Went to apply for unemployment. My weekly benefit amount went from $435 to $207. Neither amount includes the extra $600 or any other government package. I have contacted my HR dept. -they have no answers. I have called IDES and will wait for weeks for an answer. Called my state representative and he said IDES doesn’t respond to them anymore. I have called the
Lieutenant Governors office and left a message . In speaking with another employee at my company; she is receiving the $435 weekly amount just like before.

My state rep said to go ahead and file as I probably won’t hear back from IDES for 3-4 weeks and if an issue they can correct it.

I feel I’ve exhausted my resources. What is your advise.

Thank you

You are caught in IDES hell! And yes, you have exhausted all your resources. My only advice is to get several cheap burner cell phones, and leave callback numbers on ALL of them. That could increase your chances of hearing from someone!
You have my sympaathies. IDES is a total mess and it it impenetrable.
