stimulus check for 2020
I have social security direct deposits. I received my $1200 stimulus already. My wife is a house wife and never worked and is a usa citizen. She still does not get social security benefit yet. Since 3 to 4 years i donot have to file joint tax return being low income. Before that I use to do joint tax return without any dependent. I had applied for her stimulus for $1200 in the month of may 2020 but still we she did not get stimulus payment. When I filed for her on non-filer tool it was accepted. I called IRS she told online me in the application you mentioned about dependent which i have not. What shall I do now to get her first and second stimulus. By the way when I filled the application I gave her bank information for direct deposit also. Humbly request you to guide me.

You will now be able to request that amount as a credit. BUT you must file a 2020 tax return and claim the credit — even if your income is so low you are not required to file. The credit is “refundable” — meaning they will send you a check.
