Child tax credit
My sister left an abusive relationship in October of 2019 with her two minor children, the father has been filing said children for most of the relationship. He I’d now refusing to help her with the kids. She thinks he’ll collect the stimulus payments that ate set to start I’m July, is there anything she can do to get those payments? The kids have been in her care and she really needs the funds?

She needs an attorney IMMEDIATELY to file for complete custody of the children. Otherwise, yes he WILL collect the Child Credit based on his tax filing!
