Economic Impact Payment 2021
I received a letter from IRS (6475) stating my 2021 Economic Impact Payment was $2,100.00. I checked my bank account and could not find payment from IRS. I even logged on to their website and no direct payment shown. The amount is supposed to be reported on Line 30 of my 2021 taxes. Do I report the number even if I never received payment? How do I follow-up on payment if never received?

First, were you eligible for an economic impact (stimulus) payment. Read this original article to find out.

That’s an odd number, anyway. You would likely have received $600, then $1400 last year if you qualified. So that has me wondering.
Second, the money would have come in a check to you or direct deposited to your account. Did you share an account with an “ex” where it might have been direct deposited?
Wondering if it was stolen — or worse, if your identity was compromised in some way.
It’s not the taxes that are a concern, because stimulus money was TAX FREE.
But you do want to protect your identity. So read this article and read your credit report to be sure no one has opened a bank account in your name. https://www.terrysavage.com/identity-theft-update/
As for notifying the IRS, I will have to ask my media contact (which I will do this week) about contacting the IRS to report this kind of thing. And I’ll update my post then.
