Biden student loan forgiveness — paid off original loan, still paying!
Hi, I don’t have a question but comment on the student loan conversation. I have been paying for 12 years and still owe over 45,000. I think I might have paid off the original amount borrowed. Currently my monthly payment is more than my mortgage.
The 10,000 forgiveness might be nice BUT wont pay off my loans.

I just wrote a column about this. Why don’t you check with your servicer’s records about the total amount of payments you have made on this loan. Then compare it to the original balance! If you have paid it off, plus lots of interest, and still have a balance that is larger then the original borrowing, please let me know.
