Finding the right Medicare Plan at Retirement
I have to decide soon which Medicare plan or supplement to pick. I’m retiring in June and I desperately need help. The local senior center was no help. How can I get help?
Terry Says
First, if you can possibly afford it you want to stick with traditional Medicare and a Supplement and Part D. The cost is higher, but if you need care, you will have choice, and won’t have to beg your managed care Advantage provider to allow access.]

Next, you have to choose a Medicare Supplement. You can get help at no cost from eHealth.com or if you live in the Illinois area you can get personalized help from JT Medicare Advisors at https://www.jtmedicaresolutions.com/
Remember, you must also have a Part D drug plan — even if you don’t currently take any prescription drugs. Thom Dillon at JT can help you with that too.
I’m working on a guide to starting Medicare, but it won’t be done by June. You can trust Thom’s advice.
