Health Insurance for retired person

By Terry Savage on November 17, 2025 | Insurance & Annuities

I have two health plans, Medicare part G through United Health AARP and BC/BS federal employee plan. I am retired from the Veterans Administration. I would like to eliminate one plan but am in a quandary as to which plan to give up. I am concerned, should I give up one plan and decide in the future I would like to be reinstated I will not be able to get reinstated. Any thoughts?

This is a serious issue, and I honestly don’t know enough about the Federal employee plan to give you advice. I would recommend calling eHealth.com to see if they have an expert in the Federal supplement plans vs Part G. You can reach eHealth.com at (844) 559-9524.

If you live in Illinois or nearby, I’d recommend consulting Thom Dillon of JT Medicare Solutions. He seems well versed in all aspects of supplements. 800-227-1012
