Your column on National Debt

Your most recent column on the National Debt and why we should all be concerned was as always well written and insightful. You left out only one thing: what can I do about it. I don’t want to leave this earth and stick the bill to my children and their children for generations to come. Write you congress representative and senator you say. I have. You know what the response was? I got put on a mailing list asking for donations for their reelection campaigns. If you are doing a bad job, why would I want to contribute money to you to keep doing a bad job. My wife and I have a budget. We know what comes (income) and how my goes out (expenses). We live below our means because I do not want to pile on a bunch of debt I cannot pay for. Numerous times when there is a story on the accumulation of national debt, I think to myself one day the wheels are going to come off the wagon and things are going to fall apart. In any event if you have any suggestions as to what I or anyone can do to influence those jugheads in government to live within their means I would like to hear them. Thanks for letting me vent.
