2025 Income Tax Return NO REFUND
Everything fine until I rec’d follow up email regarding a detail for my wife (joint filing) that I can’t recall. I answered it promptly. We have a substantial refund and checking shows return “Received” but nothing for 8 months. Repeated calls to IRS# gets nothing but recorded guides and no human. Should I be worried? Any alternatives to IRS. Have used IDme also and nothing but “Received”. HELP

OMG — This is still happening — and the IRS is not saying anything. I’ve written about this before. They should pay you interest, plus the refund. But larger than usual refunds were kicked out of the pile as “exceptions” — and sent to individual IRS employees to review. And of course, they fired most of the best employees!
I’m keeping a list. Giving them til Jan 1st, before taking this to 60 Minutes. Please write back to the email you receive saying “your question was answered” and give me your names, phone number, and the description of your problem again. I have a bunch of these and will update everyone in the coming months.
