ACA health insurance penalty for 2019?
Hi Terry, My boyfriend is a seasonal worker and is not insured for 4 months out of the year. We are wondering if there is still going to be a penalty this year for not having health insurance. I saw you on channel 9 a few weeks ago talking about this but I didn’t get into the room in time to hear everything you were saying. I thought from what I heard there will not be a penalty. Am I right? Thank you for your time, Kathleen Koss
Terry Says
The ACA penalty for not having insurance is eliminated for 2019 — but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t need insurance. Instead, he might consider a less comprehensive and expensive “short-term” policy — one that lasts 364 days. Check it out at www.eHealthInsurance.com.
